Jacob’s Ladder, Part 3

Lucia slid the door closed.  “Come on, Jonathan,” she said.  Lucia and her brother Jonathan were on the Main deck of the Mayflower.  They both took a deep breath.  It felt very good to both of them to breath in some fresh air after being cooped up in the cabin for five days during a terrible storm.  “Hello, Captain Christopher!” Lucia said as a strong, kind, man walked toward them.  “Hello, Lucia!  Oh, Jonathan, I thought you were still sick.”  “No, sir.  Mama and Lucia say I’m getting all better!” Jonathan said with a smile. “Well, I’m glad.  I once got sick like you and it was not pleasant.  You are a brave boy,” He said. “Thank you, sir,” Jonathan replied.  “Hey, would you like to climb up to the Crow’s nest?  You’d have to be careful, but it is a very nice day,” The kind captain asked.  “Yes, sir!” They both answered in chorus.  They climbed up and even saw a dolphin jump in the distance!  Then they got down and had their lunch.
