Plastic Feet and a Stroller

We had an okay day today.  We have had an issue floating around that started the day we met the kids.  See, the day we met the kids, a guy walked in to the ICBF office in Sahagun ( where the kids were from) and claimed to be their father.  This would not have complicated things had the worker there done his job right.  But he did not, and this, in turn, complicated a lot of things in the adoption.  But things only went from bad to worse.  Our adoption coordinator Julie sent us an email 2 days ago that the guy who had messed up in the first place had the correct birth certificates (which he had put the man’s name on whether he was the actual father or not) ready for us tomorrow (which was yesterday).  This seemed great news!  Yesterday we got another email saying that they walked in there, got the papers, then saw something.  It was a stamp that made the birth certificates not work!  Then late last night we found out that the process will take like 2 months!   Which, in turn, means that we either stay here until 2014, or we go home and leave the kids here and come back when the process is done.  If you can imagine, yesterday was very emotional.  We need your prayers.  Now I’ll tell you what we did today.  We started out by going to the park.  We had gotten a new stroller for Jose at Exito and we were going to try it out.

The kids are so creative.  They had lots of fun tying plastic bags to their feet and walking around and slipping.  Please pray for this situation!

  1. Hi Josiah! I enjoy reading your blog! Maybe you'll grow up to be a journalist and work for Answers in Genesis someday?!? I'm sorry you are all having a hard time in Colombia. I'm praying for your family and the whole situation. God is mighty!
