¡Integración!

Today we had what is called Integracion!  It is when a social worker from ICBF comes to us and asks us a lot of questions about how us and the children are bonding and how things have gone since we got them.  For that time I played with the kids and she asked me a few questions about things I like about the kids and how we are bonding.  They were not hard to answer.  We went swimming earlier today and this afternoon it stormed; not quite as hard as yesterday though, because that was quite the storm.  But today was a good day and we had fun.  We were hoping to go to Cartagena which is a very touristy city but that may not happen this weekend like we were hoping but maybe next weekend.  If you would like to ask a simple question about the kids or Colombia in the comments on this blog, I can try to answer them in a blog post soon.  It could be like your own “Integracion!”

  1. We love you buddy! The kiddos are missing you very much. I will have them write to you on here so that you can all connect. You were the topic at our dinner table tonight. We all went around and said who our best friends were and the kids said you and their siblings were. You are such a special boy Josiah.

  2. Hello Josiah! Can I call you Joe? Haha, I'm just kidding. Always Josiah. I've been missing you guys! It's exciting to read your blog, i finally have gotten access to yours too! Which is very exciting. Your blog is awesome to read! The pictures look like you are having a blast. I have a question for you, I am very interested in the food. Have you found any ice cream comparable to Flapdoodles yet? What's your favorite food over there? Do the children have favorites that they show you? and How is your Spanish speaking going for you? I'm excited to see you all very soon! Miss you all! Say “hola” to the children from me! 🙂 Love you all

  3. Hola!We miss you lots! I haven't talked to you for weeks! Is there sometime soon that you can skype? We miss you soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much. The kids are great and are even learning some English! Our favorite thing to do is go up and swim. I like the blog because it is a good way for me to connect with all my friends, including you. We miss you and love you and hope to see you very soon on skype!

  4. Hola Preema Abby (girl cousin)!I've been missing you too. I wanted to add you to my blog right in the start but could not figure out how to do it but I am very excited that you are on now! I told the kids you said hola and Yerlys just said to say hola as well! Can we facetime or something sometime?Sorry, you can't call me Joe. To answer your ice cream question, there is a big mall in Monteria where we sometimes go to get stuff and there is an ice cream shop there; but I don't think it even compares to how good Flapdoodles is. There is a restaurant in our hotel that serves authentic, Colombian, food and there is fried plantains with suarro (like sour cream) that is very tasty and I really like that. The kids kind of tell us what they like when they eat it. We know enough spanish to get us around but I think I am picking it up fast now being emmersed in the language. I would love to see you soon on facetime or something if it is possible. Hope to talk to you soon!
