In Bogotá

This morning at the Bed and Breakfast that we are staying at in Bogota, we met a couple from France who are adopting a child from the same city that we are adopting Yerlys, Juan, and Jose from!  We quickly became friends and soon we realized we needed pesos (Colombian money).  They offered to walk us to a bank!  As we walked through the town, I got some great pictures of the city, it’s culture, and it’s architecture (I’ll share them with you later, along with some pictures of us traveling).  But as we walked through the city, a little girl came up to my dad and asked if he’d like to buy something from her.  I was sad that I didn’t have pesos then or I would have bought one of her things.  I just imagine her and her mom walking to town everyday just so they can eat.  It was a good reminder that not everyone lives like Americans do; lots of money, a laptop, iphone, nice car, and a big house to live in.  Jesus cares for these kinds of people, and He commands us to do the same.

Okay, here are some pictures:

We saw a beautiful sunrise just as we boarded our plane from Rochester to Chicago.
Just as we left Chicago to fly to Miami, we had a good view of downtown Chicago.
As we were nearing Miami we flew right over the Everglades!
At the Miami Airport I saw my first real palm tree.
The Bogotá Airport was very busy.
This is our Spanish-speaking driver, Andres.
This is my bed that I made at the Adoption Family Bed and Breakfast.
This is my mom and dad’s bed.
This is our mini computer desk.
This is our bathroom.
This is the Bed and Breakfast living room.
This is where we eat our food.
This is some of the food we had for breakfast (It was very tasty).
This is a place where we can play.
This is a pretty garden.
This is a tasty dessert shop.
This was a little bird walking outside a little store called Exito.
This is outside the Adoption Bed and Breakfast. ¡Adios!
